Unsung Hero of the Year – Entry Form

Our judges would like you to tell them about the student or other member of the school community who has made a noteworthy but largely understated contribution to the success of the school. Describe the role and achievements of the nominee (but please avoid lists). Most of all, tell us the story of your Unsung Hero.

The agreement from the individual concerned (and their parents/guardians where appropriate) must be secured before submission.

These are the key questions to answer in your entry: please make sure your entry explains the role of the nominee within the wider school community.

  • Why do you think your Unsung Hero nominee is special? Tell us about what they do and the particular nature of the contribution they make to the life of your school. What part do they play in making the life of the school ‘tick’? (Circa 200 words)
  • Why do you believe that the nominee has helped to create a happy environment where students and staff can thrive? Please provide examples of signal contributions the nominee has made over their time at the school (Circa 150 words)
  • What is the impact of the Unsung Hero on the successful operation of the school? Please provide some testimonials – from the Head and other members of the community – which demonstrate why you are nominating them for this award. (Circa 150 words.)
