Independent School of the Year for Student Wellbeing – Entry Form

Our judges would like to hear the story of how your school has supported student and staff wellbeing throughout 2025–26. This is your opportunity to show why you’re proud of your community and how you ensure that both mental and physical health are taken seriously, day in and day out and the resilience of your community is protected. Describe your wellbeing programme in a way that brings it to life, weaving in evidence or data where it strengthens your case—but do avoid turning it into a checklist. Above all, help us imagine the atmosphere: if our judges were to walk through your doors, how would they sense that wellbeing truly sits at the heart of school life?

The questions below should guide your entry. Please keep the focus firmly on your wellbeing programme rather than the wider story of the school.

  • What makes your school’s wellbeing programme distinctive?
Tell us about its purpose, scope and reach. What is it about your ethos around wellbeing that sets your school apart, and which successes or achievements demonstrate why your approach deserves recognition? (Around 200 words.)
  • What wellbeing challenges did you face in 2025–26?
Explain how you responded to them to ensure students and staff enjoyed a positive and supportive experience. Tell us about the initiatives or projects this year that you are particularly proud of. (Around 150 words.)
  • What difference has your wellbeing programme made?
How has it helped prepare students to meet the personal and societal challenges of adult life with confidence and resilience? (Around 150 words.)
