Independent Prep School of the Year – Entry Form
This award is for either a standalone prep school or junior school department (for students up to 11 or 13) in a wider school community which offers an outstandingly rich experience for its students.
Judges will be looking for stories of success which demonstrate how the school has fostered excellence and enhanced its students’ ability to grow and develop. They will also be looking for evidence of an innovative, challenging and interesting programme, including a diverse set of opportunities with evidence of a wide take-up from students. They will wish to understand how students’ sense of curiosity has been nurtured alongside their ability to communicate their opinions to others, resulting in well-balanced children who are clearly benefiting from their education and are well-prepared for the next stage in their educational journey.
The entry should:
- Successfully communicate the core characteristics, energy, culture and values of the prep education being delivered by the school or department which is the subject of the entry as well as the structures and initiatives which have allowed them expression.
- Explain how the student experience has been enriched
- Demonstrate the sustainability and long-term impact of the activities described
- Explain how the school is evolving to meet the changing needs of its students and offer a vibrant learning environment.
