Independent School of the Year for Student Well-Being – Entry Form

Our judges would like you to tell them about the support you provided for student and staff wellbeing in your school during 2023-24; share your pride in where you work and explain how you ensure your community’s mental and physical health is assured. Describe your wellbeing programme and share any data which supports your entry (but please avoid lists!). Most of all, give us a sense of how the importance of community wellbeing would be manifest to our judges if they were lucky enough to walk through your doors.

These are the key questions to answer in your entry: please make sure your entry focuses on your wellbeing programme rather than on the wider life of the school.

  • Why do you think the well-being programme in your school is special? Tell us about its remit, purpose and reach. What is it about your school’s wellbeing ethos which makes it stand out from other schools? What are your school’s successes and achievements in the area of wellbeing support which make it worthy of this award? (Circa 200 words)
  • What were the particular wellbeing challenges you confronted in 2023-24? Tell us how you addressed them to ensure that your students and staff had a positive school life experience? Tell us about any particular projects and initiatives which the school undertook this year of which you are particularly proud.   (Circa 150 words)
  • What is the impact of your wellbeing programme? How do you think the programme has prepared your students for the personal and societal challenges of adult life?  (Circa 150 words.)
