Rising Star of the Year – Entry Form

This award is given to a student currently being educated in an independent school in the UK or a British International School, or who has recently left, who has achieved a signal success in any part of their life and school career.

Our judges would like you to tell them the story of your nominee and, in particular, understand how they overcame adversity or exceeded normal expectation for their background and age.

The agreement from the individual concerned (and their parents/guardians where appropriate) must be secured before submission.

These are the key questions to answer in your entry: please make sure your entry explains the role of the nominee within the wider school community.

  • Why do you think your Rising Star nominee is special? Tell us about what they have achieved in a particular field and/or the service/contribution which you feel makes them noteworthy.  (Circa 200 words)
  • In 2023-24 the judges would be particularly interested to hear the stories of nominees who, through their achievements, demonstrate the benefits of an independent school education. Why do you believe that your nominee is a standout independent school student who exemplifies the sector’s ethos and values?  (Circa 150 words)
  • What is the impact of your Rising Star nominee on the life of your school? Please provide some testimonials – from the Head and other members of the community – which demonstrate why you are nominating them for this award. (Circa 150 words.)
